Export process

From concession to container.

A clear, documented route from timber sourcing in Angola to delivery at your destination port. Each stage has an owner, a check and a record.

01

Sourcing and due diligence

We start with the forest, not the price.

Species, volume and legality are checked with licensed supply partners. We review concession and harvest documentation, confirm botanical identity and agree the specification before material enters our process.

  • Supply qualification
  • Species verification
  • Origin records
02

Processing and grading

Logs are sawn to the agreed dimensions and sorted for grade, colour and defect. Each bundle is measured and marked so it can be traced through drying and packing.

Sawing, grading and dimension control happen against a written order specification, not a generic stock list.

  • Sawing
  • Dimension check
  • Visual grade
03

Drying and quality control

Where specified, timber is kiln dried to an 8–12% target and checked with a moisture meter. We inspect for drying defects, warp and grade consistency before release.

Moisture results and grade checks are recorded against the bundle reference and reviewed before packing.

  • KD 8–12%
  • Moisture records
  • Defect check
04

Documentation and compliance

We prepare the commercial and shipping documents against the contract: invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate and, where applicable, CITES permits.

Documents are cross-checked against the sales contract, the packing list and the carrier booking before the container is released.

  • Invoice
  • Origin
  • Phytosanitary
  • CITES
05

Loading and shipping

Packing is checked against the loading plan, containers or breakbulk parcels are secured, and the shipment is handed to the carrier. We share loading photographs and vessel details.

We coordinate with the freight forwarder and port agents so the cargo matches the booked sailing and the agreed Incoterm.

  • FOB Luanda
  • CIF
  • Container
  • Breakbulk
06

Delivery and follow-up

We track the shipment to arrival, share arrival documents and review quality feedback with the buyer. The aim is a repeatable supply relationship, not a single order.

After arrival, we review any deviations with the buyer and adjust grading, packing or documentation for the next shipment.

  • Track and trace
  • Arrival documents
  • Quality feedback

Lead times and terms are indicative until confirmed in a signed quotation or contract.

Shipping terms

Commercial terms built around your freight plan.

Indicative lead time: 4–8 weeks from order confirmation, depending on species, volume, drying requirements and vessel schedule. Exact dates are confirmed in the quotation.

FOB Luanda

You control freight from Luanda. We handle export clearance and loading, and coordinate with your nominated forwarder.

CIF destination

We quote freight and insurance to your port. Final scope depends on the carrier, route and destination.

Container or breakbulk

20ft and 40ft containers for sawn and KD packs; breakbulk for log or project volumes where suitable.

Documentation

Documents that travel with your timber.

A complete documentation pack protects the buyer at customs, supports traceability and reduces surprises at destination. The exact list depends on the species, route and destination requirements.

  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Certificate of origin and harvest records
  • Phytosanitary certificate
  • Bill of lading or sea waybill
  • CITES permit where applicable
  • Third-party inspection certificate on request

Compliance is part of the specification. Timber is sourced through licensed supply partners and shipped with origin, harvest and phytosanitary documentation. Permit-controlled species are supplied only with valid CITES permits.

Our sourcing approach

Common questions

What buyers usually ask.

What is the minimum order?

Minimums depend on species, format and packing. We quote from single bundles to full container loads — send your target volume and we will confirm what is practical.

Do you offer FOB and CIF?

Yes. We quote FOB Luanda and CIF destination where a reliable freight option is available. The Incoterm and scope are stated in the quotation.

Can you match our internal grade?

Yes, where the specification is clear. Send your grade rule, defect tolerance, colour requirements and dimension allowance with the enquiry.

Can we inspect before shipment?

We welcome agreed pre-shipment inspection and third-party checks. We can also provide photographs, samples and loading images before dispatch.
