Dark Wenge timber with pale grain banding Angola origin

Signature contrast

Wenge

Millettia laurentii

Deep, dramatic colour with pale banding — a signature species for premium interiors.

Angola origin Documented export FOB / CIF

About the species: Wenge

Wenge offers a distinctive dark brown-to-black heartwood with fine pale stripes. It is heavy, hard and dimensionally stable, selected for feature flooring, furniture and architectural details.

Because colour and banding vary between logs, we recommend approving a sample or photographs before a full production run. Fixed-width and mixed-width packs are available.

Typical applications

  • Feature flooring
  • Furniture and cabinetry
  • Musical instruments
  • Turnery
  • Architectural surfaces

Working and finishing

Wenge is hard and abrasive; use carbide tooling and slow feeds. It fills and finishes well, though the open grain may require pore filling for a smooth lacquer finish.
